Catering Sales Director

About the Job
The Catering Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all catering events, while also leading sales efforts to grow event revenue. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between members, guests, and internal departments to ensure a seamless and elevated experience from initial inquiry through event completion.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Growth:
  • Actively drive catering and event sales through member engagement and prospecting.
  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct site tours and build relationships with members and prospective clients.
  • Develop creative event proposals and customized menus in collaboration with the culinary team.
  • Achieve and exceed established revenue goals.

Event Planning & Execution:
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning from concept to completion.
  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure accuracy across all departments.
  • Lead weekly BEO meetings and communicate event details to culinary, service, and operations teams.
  • Maintain a precise run of show for all events, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Be present for key events to ensure service standards are met and exceeded.

Operations & Team Leadership:
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Executive Chef, and service teams.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels based on event size and service style.
  • Train and mentor staff on service expectations and event standards.
  • Maintain accountability across all departments involved in event execution.

Member Experience:
  • Build strong relationships with members and consistently deliver personalized service.
  • Handle feedback professionally and proactively resolve any concerns.
  • Continuously seek ways to elevate the event experience and exceed expectations.

Administrative & Financial Oversight:
  • Manage contracts, billing, and event reconciliation.
  • Ensure all deposits and payments are collected in accordance with club policies.
  • Track sales performance, forecasting, and event metrics.
  • Maintain organized and detailed event files.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of catering/event sales and management experience, preferably in a private club, luxury hospitality, or high-end restaurant setting.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and executing high-level events.
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage operations and service standards.
  • Experience with BEO creation, event timelines, and multi-department coordination.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with an upscale private club.
